Very important thing for WordPress security is to run the updates often, when as soon as they are available. If there are a few plugins that are updated more frequently, then you may want to just enable automatic updates for those plugins. There is a way to keep the WordPress up-to-date by using the plugin called “Automatic Plugin Updates“.
There are few really cool features of the Automatic Plugin Updates. One of them is, you can turn off the automatic updates for few plugins which you are not interested to update them automatically, because those might be customized (changed the code) according to your website needs.
How to install “Automatic Plugin Updates” without code?
- Install and activate the “Automatic Plugin Updates” plugin by searching in WordPress plugin repository (for more details, see wpbeginner.com step by step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin)
- That’s it.
- If you want to stop auto updates by default, go to “Settings => Automatic Plugin Updates” and select the plugins that you don’t want. Hit “Save Changes” (refer below screenshot).
